Our first SSHD drive recovered
Recently, Seagate launched a new line of hard drives, namely the SSHD, which combines a small flash chip with a regular hard drive. The flash chip acts as a buffer for the read and write operations. Seagate likes to present it as a combination of an SSD with an HDD that combines the best of both worlds.
The problem in this specific case is that the flash chip becomes corrupted, causing the hard disk to no longer boot.< /p>
However, current tools do not yet allow us to solve this problem.
It cost us some headaches, but using an internally developed technique we managed to get the drive back. working and fully recovering the data.
The marriage between SSD and HDD does not seem to me to be a bed of roses and gives rise to a new class of problems that we have not heard of the last of. have.
